Thursday, January 5th, 2012

Atlanta ShowroomJanuary is appropriately named after Janus, the God of the Doorway. For many, the door opens to New Year’s resolutions, to others it opens to new beginnings and promises, and to others it is a time to clean out the old to make way for the new. January at Blossom Bucket means much of the same. Winter Shows ring in the New Year with the opportunity to preview our exciting collections ready to fill shelves with fresh, new product. Showrooms and temporary show booths have been revamped to showcase this merchandise in fresh creative ways.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

1111-43513 Family is Love

Happy New Year’s Eve! I hope you are busy prepping your festivities for the evening! I usually don’t have extravagant plans to ring in the New Year, and this year is the same. I will be making a big roaster full of pork and sauerkraut and watching the ball drop on the television in my living room. Can’t hold this party animal back! Haha!

My family usually brings out the board games, the sparkling grape juice, and the laughs. We spend the evening enjoying each other’s company and trying to beat one another in one of the new games my kids got for Christmas, stopping only to countdown and welcome the brand New Year! It is a blast!

Barbara Lloyd couldn’t have summed it up any better with this new sampler. Family definitely is LOVE.

If you are heading out this evening, have a safe and enjoyable New Year! Welcome, 2012! How do you ring in the New Year?

Happy New Year!

The Key to My Heart! 1112-86152

Hi there, and Happy Monday!
With Christmas Day over, it’s on to the next holiday! I don’t mean New Year’s, but Valentine’s Day! I know we’re not even into January yet, but February 14th will come faster than we know it. This is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day pieces, designed by Tina Ledbetter. For this and more, check out our Valentine’s Day category on our website.

Have a lovely week!

Happy Hanukkah! At sunset on Tuesday began the celebration of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is known as the “festival of lights.” It is first and foremost a celebration of freedom won by the individuals who were willing to fight for their religious beliefs.

It’s Finally Black Friday!

Friday, November 25th, 2011

I am a die-hard Black Friday shopper. I wait until today to start my Christmas shopping. After Thanksgiving dinner, my sisters, my mom and I all sit around the Thanksgiving table with our newspaper ads. We each buy our own newspaper because there is no sharing! We all have a tablet of paper and a pen, and start mapping our adventure for the day! As of last year, we have had to map quickly because stores open earlier than normal! It’s been a tradition of ours for the past 15 years.

In the Thanksgiving Spirit

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

This week is filled with Thanksgiving activities and preparations. I have been busily preparing for the feast we will have on Thursday and putting my house in order for guests. I suddenly realized, just like many other meaningful holidays, that I was missing the real meaning for the day and was way too busy to enjoy what it should really be about. The first Thanksgiving dates back to Colonial times and I am sure their day was not centered on decorations or the perfect roasted turkey. They were just happy to be alive, to have survived the harsh winter, and for the meager meal before them.

With that in mind I began to think about all that I am grateful for and how I have failed to express that gratefulness. I thought this would be a great place to simply leave a ‘thanks’. Would you join me? We are all grateful for good health, family, and friends, so let’s go beyond that. I’ll start first.

I am very thankful for my job – when many do not have one, and for the privilege to live in America. I’m grateful for technology that allows me to “see” and talk to my grandchild even though he is 8 hours away.

You’re next…….I can’t wait to read your response.
