Steve Talks Super Bowl!

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Well, the Super Bowl is set with the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. I’m expecting a great game between these two teams. They both have great coaches and players. I’m sure the coaches on both teams will have a great game plan, since they have had two weeks to prepare. New England is the team I want to win, since they got our homegrown offensive coordinator back. Josh McDaniels is from the Canton area, which is right down the street. It’s always nice to see local people win in big games.

Who do you think is going to win?

Have a great weekend,
Steve

High School Football Finals

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

This past weekend the OHSAA football playoff finals were held here in Massillon and Canton. There were three games on Friday, and three games on Saturday. On Friday, the games held in Massillon were at 11 AM and 7 PM. The 3 PM game was held in Canton. On Saturday, Canton hosted the 11 AM and 7 PM games, and Massillon had the 3 PM game. If you like high school football, this is a great weekend. With the times spread out, you can go to all six games. There’s only a twenty minute drive in between the two stadiums.

People come from all over to watch these games. With the nice weather, there were over fifteen thousand people at some of the games. If you can’t make the game, you can watch on live TV.

Yes; this is northeast Ohio and people love their high school football!

Have a nice and safe holiday!

World Series

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The baseball World Series starts Wednesday night.  Who would think it would be Texas Rangers vs. the St Louis Cardinals? I followed the playoffs a little bit and both teams played very good baseball.

The Yankees and Phillies, who were the two teams everybody thought would be in the World Series, got knocked out in the first round.    (more…)

Football Is Back!

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Nebraska "#1 Fan" Block - 1111-84580It’s that time of the year where the kids start back to school, and that means football is back.

Last weekend started the high school football season here.

High school football is very big around here.  Some games will have attendance over 15,000 people.

I go to a high school game every weekend.  It’s a lot of fun watching the rivalries.

No Tall Tales, Just Big Fish!

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

Steve & FishBack in June I went on my annual fishing trip with ten other friends.  We were at Chautauqua Lake in New York.

As in the past, the weather was great.  Some of the days got too hot (low 90’s), but a lot of fish was still caught.  We caught more largemouth bass than we ever caught at this lake.  They were consistently bigger than what we caught in the past.  The largemouth ran 3 to 4 pounds for the most part.

Cold and Wet Spring

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Set of 2 Fishing Bears - 101-82019The weather has not cooperated much this spring.  It’s been cold and rainy.  We never saw this kind of weather before.  Last weekend was our first decent two days, but we ended up working in the yard because of all the rain.  It is really wet.

With all this bad weather, baseball has really struggled to get playing time.  Some baseball teams only had a few practices before the season started.  Once the season started, most of the games were rained out.  Our golf league has been canceled three out of six weeks.  Hopefully, this will change because I need the practice.

In two weeks I’ll be going on my annual fishing trip to Lake Chautauqua.   I hope to bring back some nice pictures to share with you.

Do you have any special lakes that you fish at?

It’s Golf Season!

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

118-59592This week begins the first major tournament in golf.

The Masters tournament is always a prestigious tournament that draws a lot of attention.  Phil Mickelson looks like one of the favorites to win this tournament since he won the Masters last year, and he just won the Houston tournament Sunday.

Phil’s a lot fun to watch because he likes to take chances on tricky shots.  He’s my pick to win this major tournament.

Who do you like?

Have You Got the Itch?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

After the last few weeks of bitter cold, snowy and icy weather, this week the weather is finally going to break into the 50’s.  Once you get this kind of weather you get the itch for spring.  I realize that this warm weather is just temporary, but it puts us closer to spring.

Speaking of the itch, March is right around the corner which means college basketball tournaments will begin.  The conference tournaments begin March 10th. (more…)

We’re Ready for a Brand New Year!

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

collegiategroup3Well, another year has gone by and the Christmas rush is behind us.  It’s time for us to gear up for the New Year.

We finished our annual physical inventory with very little variance.  Our distribution center employees take great pride in our inventory so that we can provide our customers great service.

With the New Year rapidly approaching, containers are coming in with the new 2011 product.   Be sure to check out our new collegiate line; we’ve added several new teams, and are working on more all the time.  These will make great gifts.

We will be back in the swing of things January 3rd to see that you receive these great new items.

We hope you enjoyed the holidays, and wish you a prosperous New Year.

Let’s Go Buckeyes!

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

OSU GroupCollege football is winding down.  Ohio State has 3 games left: Penn State at home, Iowa away, and the rivalry game with Michigan at home.

The number 9 rated Buckeyes need to win these three games to have a chance to go back to the Rose Bowl.

The Buckeyes come off of a bye week and hopefully are prepared for these next three games.  As usual, I will be in front of the TV watching and rooting for them.

As a big Buckeye fan I have my OSU hat and football T shirt on each week when they play.  At my house we have some of these nice Buckeye items on display to show our support of the team.

You can purchase these items the next time you place your orders with Blossom Bucket.

Go Buckeyes!
